Celebrating milestones and community at SEAB
Find out more information below.
From marking our 22nd anniversary and being recognised in the 2025 Singapore Opportunity Index, to coming together for Chinese New Year and Hari Raya festivities, every occasion has been a reminder of the vibrant community that makes SEAB who we are. The first half of 2026 also saw SEAB reaching out beyond our walls through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with MINDS, embodying our belief that community spirit extends far beyond the workplace.

2026 SEAB Day - @22: Play, Progress, Power-Up!
On 1 April 2026, SEAB turned 22, and we marked the occasion under the exciting theme "@22: Play, Progress, Power-Up!" Dressing to the “Play” theme, spontaneous staff donned crowd-favourite characters and created a colourful, spirited atmosphere throughout the day.

This year’s theme creatively captured SEAB’s evolution as an assessment authority in meeting the changing needs of Singapore's education landscape. From experimenting with ideas, progressing with intent, and powering up with purpose, we are reminded of our commitment to design and provide meaningful assessment for our students and future generations.

The programme encompassed insightful speeches from our Board Chairman, Mr Wong Siew Hoong, and Chief Executive, Mr Yue Lip Sin. Both delivered their thoughts about the impact that SEAB has created and expressed gratitude to stakeholders and staff. Adding to the significance of occasion was the presence of former Chief Executive Ms Tan Lay Choo, whose attendance bridged SEAB's past achievements with its future aspirations.

Sweet celebrations as SEAB marked another milestone together!
The celebration struck the perfect balance between festivity and recognition. From committee appreciations and new appointments to the prestigious MOE Innergy Awards, the event commemorated staff’s contributions through Bright Sparks Awards, Service Excellence Awards, Long Service Awards, and well-deserved promotions. Each recognition tells the story of the dedication that drives SEAB forward.

Applauding the hard work and commitment of our SEAB team.
The appreciation extended beyond the ceremony itself. Staff received a thoughtfully curated door gift featuring a star plushie and an eco-friendly recyclable bag — a meaningful keepsake to remind everyone that they are SEAB's shining stars. The recyclable bag, adorned with adorable lion motifs, also represents SEAB's culture traits of being Agile, Collaborative, Empathetic, Innovative, and Accountable — values that will anchor SEAB's next bound of work.

A small gesture of appreciation for our incredible officers.
Throughout the day, the celebrations were complemented with fun-filled team-bonding games that sparked laughter and friendly competition and eagerly anticipated lucky draws. These interactive elements complemented the formal ceremonies beautifully, strengthening workplace bonds and leaving lasting memories for all.

Smiles and camaraderie shine through during the activities.
Happy 22nd birthday, SEAB! Here's to continued growth, innovation, and excellence in the years ahead.

Ringing in the year of the horse at SEAB!
SEAB welcomed Chinese New Year in festive fashion on 13 February 2026, as staff gathered to usher in the Year of the Horse together. The celebrations got off to an energetic start with a lively lion dance performance, filling the venue with the thunderous beats of drums and cymbals, a timeless tradition believed to bring good luck and prosperity for the year ahead.

The highlight of the day, however, belonged to the youngest performers of the occasion. Kindergarteners from the Orange Academy took to the stage and delivered an utterly charming performance of popular Chinese New Year songs that had the audience thoroughly captivated. Their infectious energy and adorable antics drew smiles and warm applause from all who were present, making it a truly memorable moment of the celebrations. It was a wonderful afternoon of festive cheer, camaraderie, and joy - a fitting way for the SEAB family to come together and embrace the spirit of Chinese New Year.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the board to set aside the bustle of work and enjoy each other's company in the spirit of the season, sharing in the joy and camaraderie that the Lunar New Year brings.

Celebrating Hari Raya with heart at SEAB!
On 10 April 2026, SEAB marked Hari Raya Aidilfitri in a truly special way — by opening its doors to a group of seniors from Jamiyah Home for the Aged (Darul Takrim) for a joyful afternoon of festivities, laughter, and togetherness. It was the first time SEAB had invited the Jamiyah seniors to celebrate the occasion together, and it turned out to be an afternoon that left a lasting impression on everyone present.

The celebration got off to a lively start with a marching-in procession accompanied by the rhythmic beats of the traditional Malay kompang, instantly filling the hall with warmth and festive energy. The audience were also treated to a fashion show segment called 'Gaya Raya', where SEAB staff took to the runway to showcase a stunning array of traditional Malay attire, from the dashing baju melayu worn by the men to the elegant baju kebaya adorned by the women.

At the heart of the afternoon was a meaningful video lovingly put together by SEAB staff, which explored the significance of Ramadan and the joy of Hari Raya. This was followed by an engaging quiz on the video's content. Following that, a lively Hari Raya-themed bingo game had both the Jamiyah seniors and SEAB staff participating with great enthusiasm. Adding a contemporary twist, SEAB staff also came together to put up a fun medley of trendy TikTok videos celebrating Hari Raya festivities, a lighthearted showcase that embodied the joy and camaraderie that defines the culture at SEAB.

Good fun all around as quizzes, games, and entertaining videos had everyone laughing and smiling

Colourful Connections: SEAB's CSR initiative with MINDS
In May 2026, SEAB marked an exciting new chapter in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) journey — connecting with persons with intellectual disability (PWIDs) from MINDS for the very first time in a celebration of inclusion, creativity, and community. Aptly named Colourful Connections, the initiative was held over three sessions, with a total of 30 SEAB staff volunteers coming together to participate in hands-on activities designed to foster genuine bonds with the MINDS community.
Prior to the sessions, a fundraising activity was organised and the response from SEAB staff was nothing short of heartening. Thanks to the generosity of those who volunteered, donated, or both, SEAB raised a total of $3,500 for MINDS. SEAB also committed to donating 50 soccer balls to be distributed across MINDS centres island-wide. The timing of the donation carries added significance. With 2026 being a FIFA World Cup year, the gift of soccer balls speaks to the spirit of inclusive sports, a cause that MINDS has long championed. It is a reminder that the joy of play belongs to everyone.
During the sessions, SEAB volunteers partnered with the PWIDs to paint soccer balls, each representing a $60 donation to MINDS. The painted balls were gifted to MINDS regional hubs for use in recreational programmes. For the second activity, volunteers and PWIDs came together to select iron-on decals and decorate coloured socks, co-creating personalised keepsakes that held special meaning for the PWIDs. This activity was also tied to MINDS' annual fundraising campaign, the Colourful Socks Parade.

Colourful Connections marks an important milestone in SEAB's CSR journey and a vivid demonstration that when people come together with open hearts, the impact is far greater than the sum of its parts.
