Many Interests, One Celebration: SEAB’s 2026 National Day Celebration
Celebrating Singapore's birthday as one SEAB
SEAB marked Singapore’s 61st birthday this year with a refreshing take on our National Day celebrations — bringing staff together through shared interests, meaningful connections and a celebration of what it means to call Singapore home.
Connecting through shared interests
The celebrations kicked off with a morning of interest-based activities, giving staff the flexibility to choose how they wanted to spend the morning and connect with others who shared their interests.
From pickleball, table tennis and yoga to board games, walks and movies, there was something for everyone. Beyond the activities themselves, it was an opportunity for officers from across SEAB to step away from their usual work settings, get to know one another better and strengthen the camaraderie that brings us together as an organisation.

Coming together as one SEAB
After a morning spent in different activities, all of us came together for the National Day Observance Ceremony.
We recited the National Pledge and joined our voices in singing the National Anthem, Majulah Singapura. The familiar words and melodies provided a meaningful moment to reflect on our shared identity and the values that unite us as Singaporeans.
In his National Day message, SEAB’s Chief Executive, Mr Yue Lip Sin, reflected on Singapore’s remarkable journey and the courage, resilience and determination that enabled generations of Singaporeans to overcome challenges and build the nation we know today. Drawing on this year’s theme, “Majulah Singapura, Going Beyond”, he highlighted three qualities that remain important for the journey ahead — resilience, trust and continuous improvement.
For SEAB, “going beyond” means continuing to learn, adapt and improve, while strengthening the trust that Singaporeans place in our national examination and assessment system. He also reminded everyone that SEAB has its own part to play in Singapore’s continuing story by safeguarding the integrity of our examinations and ensuring that every candidate can demonstrate what they know and can do.
Reflecting on our roots
A special highlight of the celebration was Roots, a commemorative National Day film produced by our colleagues.
Created as a heartfelt tribute to Singapore, the film took viewers on a journey across generations and reflected on the values of duty, sacrifice and home that have shaped to the Singapore we know today.
The film provided a meaningful backdrop for us to reflect on Singapore’s journey and the contributions of those who came before us.

From our roots, a story unfolds: A commemorative film by SEAB colleagues, Roots invited us to look back on Singapore’s journey and the values that continue to bind generations together.
Celebrating in song
The celebratory mood continued with a lively sing-along featuring popular National Day songs from over the years. Taking the stage were some of SEAB’s talented singers, who drew enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. The energy and festive spirit in the room made it a fitting way to round off SEAB’s celebration of Singapore’s 61st birthday.
Happy 61st Birthday, Singapore!
