About GCE N(A) Level

The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Normal (Academic) Level (GCE N(A)-Level) examination is an annual national examination that is taken by school and private candidates in Singapore.
Since 2008, the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (GCE) Normal Level examination has been segregated into the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Normal (Technical) Level (GCE N(T)-Level) and GCE Normal (Academic) Level (GCE N(A)-Level) examinations.
The GCE N(A)-Level examination is offered annually to:
Students from mainstream schools who offer G2 subjects.
Private candidates who have met the eligibility criteria to register for the GCE N(A)-Level examination.
The Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board, Ministry of Education Singapore, and Cambridge International Education are the joint examining authorities for the GCE N(A)-Level examination.
From the 2027 graduating cohort, students will sit for the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) examination, comprising different papers for each subject level. Students will receive an SEC that reflects the subjects and subject levels that students offer. More information on the SEC can be found here.
