Dr. Pornpun Waitayangkoon, IPST President (front row, fifth from the left), led a delegation comprising members from three organisations in a special visit to SEAB.

On 16 February 2012, SEAB hosted guests from The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), the National Institute of Education Testing Service (NIETS) and the Office of Basic Education Commission (OBEC).  The 9 delegates specially flew in for a half day visit to SEAB.

IPST conducts studies and research to develop curriculum, teaching media and equipment, learning processes, and education personnel; and promotes the assessment of science, mathematics and technology education. NIETS is an educational testing service institute that serves schools at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. The Bureau of Testing, OBEC, under the Ministry of Education in Thailand, is responsible for policy creation and the control of primary and secondary schools.

The delegation, led by Dr Pornpun Waitayangkoon, President of IPST, made a special trip to SEAB to discuss issues related to assessment, specifically, in Mathematics, Science, Technology and English Language

SEAB was pleased to share its experience and Singapore’s practices in the areas of examinations, assessment and grading.
