FULL-TIME POSITIONS

ASSESSMENT OFFICERS

  • Post 1: Assessment Officer, Malay language
  • Post 2: Assessment Officer, Mathematics

RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful applicant will be responsible for the assessment of the relevant subject areas at the national level. He/She will develop examination syllabuses and assessment instruments, and provide advice on assessment.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification:

  • Post 1: Tertiary qualification in Malay Language and Literature
  • Post 2: Tertiary qualification in Mathematics

Post 1 - 2:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience as a trained teacher, preferably with experience as Subject Coordinator, Subject Head, Level Head or Head of Department
  • Keen interest in assessment and would like to specialise in this field of expertise
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Enjoy working in teams in a dynamic and creative work environment

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (MEASUREMENT AND ANALYTICS)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful applicant will conduct research on educational measurement and assessment issues and develop assessment services and products that are fit for purpose, educationally sound and positively transforming for stakeholders. He/she is expected to contribute to research studies that investigate use of ICT into assessments that will address current needs and anticipate future needs in assessment and measurement in Singapore. The officer is expected to apply his/her expertise in interpretive, statistical, measurement and evaluative technologies for education to further the cause of meaningful and accurate educational assessment, as well as the use of analytics in deriving information from large-scale assessment data to inform education policies. With good progress, the officer can look forward to leadership opportunities in shaping the future of educational assessment in Singapore.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct studies to develop knowledge and insight in statistical analysis and psychometric methodology
  • Contribute to the development of SEAB's strategy to use technology to provide e-assessments, for example in scoring and analytic methodologies for large-scale computer-based assessments
  • Conceptualise and carry out statistical analysis activities in support of the conduct of assessment work
  • Conduct psychometric studies, such as analysis and reporting of item response data, to inform decision making and policies
  • Conceptualise, design and develop workflow and process for data management and statistical analysis
  • Provide training and consultancy services to SEAB's customers and deliver outcomes to agreed timescales and quality

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in providing leadership in research studies, measurements, analytics and/or policy analysis
  • Proficient in the use of various statistical analysis software (e.g. STATA, SPSS, SAS, AMOS, EQS, RUMM2020, R-Programming)
  • Experience coding applications with C/C#/C++, Visual Basic or Java Programming Language will be useful
  • Experience in the education sector will be an advantage
  • Adaptable, meticulous individual with excellent analytical skills
  • Demonstrate good research practices and skills
  • Able to communicate complex concepts in applied and practical manner to get buy-in from stakeholder groups

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (ASSESSMENT RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful applicant will conduct research in assessment, and develop assessment services and products that are fit for purpose, educationally sound and positively transforming for stakeholders. He/She is expected to contribute to research studies which focus on harnessing technology to assess complex competencies for 21st Century education, apply statistical techniques to support assessment-related analysis and provide project management and consultancy services for assessment projects. With good progress, the officer can look forward to leadership opportunities in shaping the future of educational assessment in Singapore.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a trained teacher, preferably with experience in research or educational measurement related work

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT / EXECUTIVE, OFFICE AND ESTATE MANAGEMENT - 2-YEAR CONTRACT

RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful applicant will be part of the team rendering corporate support services to the entire organisation. He/She will provide support in managing the Facilities and Estate functions of SEAB and work closely with outsourced facilities management teams in creating a safe and conducive environment for the staff. The key responsibilities include:

  • Security systems and guard management
  • Visitors' control and management
  • Facilities and estate maintenance
  • Set-up of venues for events, meeting and office workstation
  • Carpark management
  • Process payment to vendors and for utilities
  • Coordinate waste paper pulping exercise

REQUIREMENTS

  • NITEC and above in a related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in supporting the facilities and estate function. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Good written and spoken communications skills
  • High level of integrity and result driven
  • An outgoing team player who is passionate about serving others
  • Able to multi-task effectively and with an attention to details

TEMPORARY POSITIONS

HQ Chief Presiding Examiners (HQ CPEs) / HQ Presiding Examiners (HQ PEs)

If you are a retired or former education officer with experience conducting the national exams, we would like to invite you to join us as HQ CPE or HQ PE. The HQ CPE will supervise a team of examination personnel in the conduct of examinations/tests offered by SEAB. The HQPE will conduct the examinations that may include invigilation duties. HQ PE may also assist the HQ CPE in the conduct of the examinations. Both personnel will have to maintain the security of the examinations/tests and ensure that the examinations/tests are conducted promptly and with integrity.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Retired or former Education Officers from the Ministry of Education
  • Prior experience in the conduct of the National Examinations
